Oakwood Meet

Our first dual meet of the season (and first of the week, we have a meet at West Mobile Thursday night as well) is at Oakwood Swim Club. Warmups are from 4:30-5:00. The guppies will swim immediately after warmups and the meet will begin following the guppy swim. All swimmers who plan to attend need to register by Sunday night at 7 pm using this link.
!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!! The pool management has reached out regarding complaints they have received from other members. After morning practice, all swim team members/swim team family members AND ALL OF THEIR BELONGINGS must exit the pool and reenter when the pool opens at 10. Seats in the pool area cannot be saved with towels and other belongings. I realize that this is a change in the procedure, but there have been complaints and we would like to be considerate of all members. I also realize that this will be a bit of a pain, but I trust that we will all comply to ensure all members have an enjoyable pool experience.

Oakwood sent the following meet information:
Parking: Parking is available near the front entrance of the pool (5260 Perin Road, Mobile, AL). Do not park in the grass or along Perin Road. Additional parking is available at Dodge Elementary School (2615 Longleaf Drive, Mobile, AL 36693) and there is a gate that will be open so you can cut through to get to the pool. Just walk past the tennis courts and you should see the pool!
Team set-up areas: Visitor teams can set-up at the tables and chairs near the diving boards and there is also a grassy area right next to the baby pool if anyone wants to set up tents.
We have a new electronic timing system that will be utilized this year - yay! In order to purchase some spare parts and hopefully a display monitor in the future, we will be having a bake sale during the swim meet and will also be selling pizzas (cheese and pepperoni). Bake sale items will be $1-$2 and pizza will be $2/1 slice, $3/2 slices, $15 for whole pizza (12 slices). Paper plates and napkins will be provided. We will be accepting cash, check, or venmo. WHOLE PIZZAS MUST BE PRE-ORDERED.
